Using Logs for Troubleshooting

Examples of using logs to troubleshoot specific errors.

Troubleshooting Examples

This topic provides specific examples of using logs for troubleshooting.

Failing API Call

Look at the request logs to find a record for the appropriate url, with the appropriate method, and with a failing http response code (400 or 500 class). Once you have this, use the request guid to find other log entries linked to that request guid, to determine what happened across any of the Tamr Core microservices while processing that request.

Jobs Aren’t Running

This troubleshooting step is applicable to single-node on-premises deployments.

Start by checking the yarn logs to see if yarn is still running. If yarn appears to be up and running, try the dataset and then recipe logs and look for unusual log messages, or ERROR level logs.
