Editing Golden Record Consolidation Rules

Initial Consolidation Rules

Upon project creation, Tamr creates an initial golden records dataset using the attributes of the selected input dataset and a suggested consolidation rule for each attribute.

The use of an initial rule is indicated by a blue dot beside the attribute's name.

To edit an attribute consolidation rule for golden records:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the top right, click Open rules.
3. Choose the > icon beside the attribute to view its rule.
4. Select and edit a consolidation rule. See Golden Record Consolidation Rules.
5. Choose Save.

Creating a Golden Record Attribute

To create a golden record attribute:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the top right, choose Open rules.
3. Choose Create Attribute.
4. Enter a value in the field Name.
5. Choose Create.

Deleting a Golden Record Attribute

To delete a golden record attribute:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the top right, choose Open rules.
3. Choose the > icon beside the attribute to view its rule.
4. In the bottom left of the expanded rule, click the trashcan icon.
5. Choose Delete.

Creating or Editing a Value Override for a Golden Record

To create or edit an attribute value override for a golden record:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. Hover over an attribute value in the table.
3. Choose the pencil icon that appears upon hover.
4. Enter a value in the field Override.
5. Choose Save.

Deleting a Value Override for a Golden Record

To delete an attribute value override for a golden record:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the table, choose a statically visible pencil icon.
3. In the bottom left, choose the trashcan icon.

Filtering To Records with Value Overrides

To filter to a golden record with attribute value overrides:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the top right, choose Open rules.
3. Choose the > icon beside the attribute to view its rule.
4. In the bottom left of the expanded rule, choose Filter to these records.

Updating Golden Records

To update golden records:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the top right, choose Update Golden Records.

Publishing Golden Records

To publish golden records:

1. Navigate to the Golden Records tab of a Golden Records project.
2. In the top right, choose the drop-down arrow on the button Update Golden Records.
3. Choose Publish.
