Publishing Clusters

Review cluster change metrics and publish the current clusters.

All change metrics and movements displayed in the UI are compared to the most recent published version of clusters.

Publishing Clusters

To publish clusters:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Review and update clusters.
  3. Review any cluster change metrics.
  4. Click Update published clusters.

Reviewing All Cluster Change Metrics

Cluster change metrics are available only after the first execution of publishing clusters.

To review cluster change metrics:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Review and update clusters.
  3. Review cluster and record change metrics.

Cluster Change Metrics

Modified: The number of clusters that have membership changes. For example, merging two clusters together yields a count of 2 modified clusters (the count includes the both the empty and the survived cluster).

New: The number of clusters that do not exist in the latest published clusters.

Empty: Empty clusters are clusters that contained records in the last set of published clusters, but are currently empty. These clusters and their published IDs will be archived when you update published clusters again.

Reviewing a Specific Cluster's Change Metrics

To review a specific cluster's change metrics:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. Select a cluster from the left-hand panel.
  3. Click Open details to view cluster change metrics.

Reviewing a Specific Cluster's Record Movement

To review a specific cluster's record movement:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. Select a cluster from the left-hand panel.
  3. Click View changes to view record movement. Records that have been added or removed from the cluster will be highlighted in blue and red, respectively.

Or:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. Select a cluster from the left-hand panel.
  3. Click Open details and then View cluster changes to view record movement. Records that have been added or removed from the cluster will be highlighted in blue and red, respectively.

Record Change Metrics

New: The number of new records in the unified dataset since the last published clusters.

Moved: The number of records moved to another cluster from their last published clusters.

Remained: The number of records that did not move to another cluster from their last published clusters.

Deleted: The number of records deleted from the unified dataset since the last published clusters.

Reviewing a Specific Record's Cluster Membership Over Time

To review a specific record's cluster membership over time:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. Select a record from the records panel.
  3. Click Open details to view record movement.

Reviewing a Specific Record's Lock History

To review a specific record's lock history over time:

  1. Navigate to the Clusters page of a Mastering Project.
  2. Select a record from the records panel.
  3. Click Open details to view lock history under the LOCK STATUS section.

Record Lock History

When viewing record lock history, the following information will be available:

  • Whether the record is locked or unlocked.
  • Which user performed the most recent lock or unlock action, and at what time.
