Profiling a dataset does the following:

• Creates a sample of the dataset and makes it available in the Schema Mapping tab.
• Allows Tamr to use the profiling metadata as one of its signals when learning how to map attributes from input datasets to target datasets.

To profile a dataset:

1. Navigate to the Dataset Catalog tab.
2. Select the checkbox to select a dataset and then choose Profile.
3. Select Profile Dataset to confirm.
